Authors Honoring Authors

The world of publishing can be competitive, filled with drama, and even downright nasty at times. Like in any field, authors want to succeed and some so much so that they’ll cross lines and hurt others in the process. But there is something so much bigger about the author community that is often not seen as easily. Support, respect, and extreme generosity are exhibited day after day behind the scenes for the simple reason that many authors really do care about their fellow authors.  So today we are giving a few of them the opportunity to say thank you and share what has inspired them about their favorite author friend.

Jessica Hawkins - “The land of Indie publishing is this loud and scary virtual world full of trends and voices and chaos and change--and if you're new, you're reaching around in the noise, trying to find meaning and to understand how this all works. If you're lucky, you'll meet someone like Jessica Hawkins, who will reach out to you, take you by the hand, and show you how to stand on this ever-shifting ground. I'm so grateful for the blessing of her friendship and mentorship...and most of all for her stories, which are beautiful and well-crafted.”    ~Carter Ashby

Pamela Ann – “Pamela Ann is the kindest, sweetest, most giving author I've ever encountered.  Because of her, I was able to publish my first book.  Without her, I'd be lost.  When I think of a true, honest to God friend, her name is always the first out of my mouth.  I love you, Pammy.”    ~Ashley Suzanne

Madeline Sheehan – “Do you know who I adore?  Madeline Sheehan.  Every author should have a ‘person’ like her.  Apart from being an exceptional personal friend, she's my rock in this industry.  Without her, I'd die ... probably not, but you get where I'm going with this.  I love you Mad <3”    ~Ashley Suzanne

K.S. Brooks - "A warm, friendly, beautiful and very helpful indie author who loves helping people and gives freely of her time to other indie authors. It is a pleasure to know her. Thank you, Kat."    ~Jacqueline Hopkins

Sarah M Cradit  - “Sarah M Cradit is amazing. Not only is she a talented author, but it's a blast to bounce ideas off her. She's as twisted as I am, and an incredible person.”    ~Brandy L Rivers

Kym Grosso – “OMG, Kym and I bonded at RNC over the summer. Her books rock, she's a riot, and super supportive of other authors. She's amazing, I love her and her books.”    ~Brandy L Rivers

Gypsy Rae Choszer – “Gypsy Rae Choszer is my lobster!  She's been next to me each and every step of the way since book one and I was so thrilled when she wrote her own book last year because now I can return the favor!”    ~Jennifer Miller

Kristen Mayer – “Kristin is one of my favorite authors. She's supportive, always willing to chat about books. And just amazing.”    ~Brandy L Rivers

Nina Mason  - “I remember the first time I met Nina Mason.  It was at an online party, and she was doing an author takeover.  Her wit and humor immediately grabbed my attention.  She was entertaining, lively and fun!  I felt a connection right away as someone I wanted to get to know better.  We keep in touch, thanks to the internet.  Although we've never met in person (not yet anyway, but it's on my bucket list!), she's someone I respect and regard as a friend.”    ~Jenna Galicki

Savannah Morgan  - “Savannah Morgan is one of those authors who goes out of her way to promote others without expecting anything in return.  She's a true class act.”    ~Diana Ames

Meg Collett – “I have never met her, and have only briefly spoken to her during her release day takeover, but the world needs to know about Meg Collett. She has a blog on her website called ‘Sh!t I learned today’ where she shares everything from what she has learned since starting her journey as an author. I have learned so much from her, and when she shared her sales figures, I took a deep sigh of relief, because it made me feel normal. She is the perfect example of indie's helping other indie's.”    ~Rebecca Elise

JL Beck  - “JL Beck is an amazingly talented and incredibly sweet new indie author on the block. When I was feeling lower than low, she picked me back up and reminded me that authors need to support each other.”    ~Kira Adams

“There are six, extremely important authors I'd like to thank. Each one of these ladies inspires me, cheers me on, helps me shape my craft, gives me a shoulder to cry on, is my safe haven, and supports me in a way that my friends and family outside of this industry can't comprehend or relate. I love you all to bits. Big love to: Brittainy C. Cherry, A. Meredith Walters, Kelsie Leverich, TK Rapp, Stacey Lynn, and Claire C. Riley.”    ~Amalie Silver

K.A. Robinson – “K.A. Robinson is one of the most genuine authors I have come to meet through this book world. She was the first one to really reach out to me in friendship and the gesture blew me away. Not only is she extremely talented, she's one of the most down-to-earth authors I have met, and a great friend too! I'm so thankful to her for a lot!”    ~Tijan

Author BFF group – “My appreciation is for a group rather than just one author. I am particularly thankful for the women in our new Author BFF group. It is small enough to be manageable. We are all busy, so having a group where you can truly impact the lives of other authors, and have them impact yours, is wonderful.”    ~Bev Elle

AC Bextor – “Not only did she encourage me, a nobody, a fan and a reader to follow where my heart wanted to go as an editor, she pushed and supported me, never letting me say that I wasn't good enough. She is a true writer and friend.”    ~Dana Hook

Elizabeth James  - “Elizabeth James writes romance with old fashion values and modern sexiness.  She inspires me to write what I love even if it is not the norm.  Be someone who stands out and writes outside of the box instead of writing what already has been written."    ~Maria DeSouza
